Getting Your Passport Photo Right Part Four

Finally you need to think about your expression for the photograph. Here again you are slightly more limited if the passport photo is to be used in a professional capacity. You will find for example that you are not allowed to smile in a professional passport photo. This contributes a lot to so many bad passport photos in which we look overly intense, angry, upset or blank. The truth is though, that even in a professional passport photo, you can normally still get away with smiling slightly or just looking fractionally amused. Don't pull a massive grin, but just inject a little life behind your smile. The rest is behind the eyes and by smiling with your eyes you can look alive and as though you have a twinkle in your eye rather than causing people to question if you might be a zombie. Remember it doesn't hurt to practice this look in a mirror, so try a few and pick one that will be suitable for a passport photo but that you still like.
